The Story of
pao xiang

Pao Xiang was built on the foundation of food culture, a source of fierce passion for its founder Chef Ah Zong. Originating from a humble Bah Kut Teh stall, Pao Xiang was built up from scratch by Chef Ah Zong, whose success was fuelled solely by the desire to ensure that the history and goodness of Bah Kut Teh – a true blue Malaysian delicacy, could be passed down to the future generations through Restaurant Pao Xiang. To date, Chef Ah Zong’s creation has evolved into an upscale establishment enjoying tremendous following from loyal customers.

FAMOUS TRADEMARK

Chef Ah Zong’s highly treasured namesake is synonymous with producing the best String-Tied Bah Kut Teh. In recognition of its value, the trademark of Chef Ah Zong has now been copyrighted to protect it and to prevent multiple abuse of his fame in regards to the dish. It now belongs exclusively to Restaurant Pao Xiang.

‘Teh’ – The Herbal Broth

Pao Xiang’s slogan emphasises on the word ‘Teh (茶)’. For decades, the word has been misunderstood as Chinese tea since it is often served together with the dish.

The word ‘Teh’, actually means the broth or soup of the Bah Kut Teh, as tea is the outcome of boiled herbs.
